ANNUAL PARISH MEETING – Sunday, January 17, 2010 at 9:15 a.m. in the Parish Community Room

Vestry Nominating Committee — meets Sunday, January 10, 2010 at 9:15 a.m. in the Rector’s Office.  Chairperson: Barry Scott

At the ANNUAL PARISH MEETING the work of the Parish in the preceding year is reviewed through the presentation of reports by the Rector and various program leaders.  VESTRY MEMBERS are also elected.  Three full (3-year) seats will be filled at that election.  Parishioners may recommend Vestry candidates to the Nominating Committee, or may directly nominate by written petition to the Committee, prior to its meeting.  Three voting parishioners must sign a written petition, and no parishioner may sign more than one.  Qualifications for serving on Vestry are the same as for Voting Members: one must have been on the rolls as a baptised member, and be financially supportive and regular in worship, for at least the 6 months preceding, and not deny the authority of the church (Diocese  & TEC).  If you have questions, please contact the Rector or Mr. Barry Scott.

The TWELVE Days of Christmas!

The season of Christmastide begins with Christmas Day, the celebration of the Savior’s birth, up to the Feast of the Epiphany on January 6th.  One benefit of the retail rush prior to Christmas Day is that the Christmas Season is spared the commercialization, and during those 12 Days of Christmas we can observe & celebrate with true joy the mystery of the Incarnation, God taking on human flesh in Jesus son of Mary, Son of God.

CEREMONY of LESSONS & CAROLS — a service established in England for Christmas Eve as a way to recall with familiar carols and Bible lessons the history of God’s care and calling of His people leading up to the birth of the Savior; we will offer this service on Sunday, January 3rd, 2010 at 10:30am to celebrate the Christmas season as it draws to a close.

Annual Parish Meeting — January 17.  For more details, and about how to nominate Vestry candidates, please go to the “News & Events” link at the top of this page.
